Trembling with nervous excitement

Welcome to the new website!

I’m excited to finally get some new work up, but even more so about the blog. It’s been too long since the good ol’ days of The Plundering (R.I.P.) group blog. Much thanks to Tommy at Techgrunt for getting it all up and running. Take a look around, let me know what you think.

The above image is a piece I recently did for Carol Kaufman over at the LA Times Book Review. The book is written by a former CIA agent and is presented as if some of the text had been redacted by the goverment.

The cropping on the original sketch seemed a bit too much like a comic panel or a film still, so I pulled back and opened up the top, which I think gave the piece some breathing room.

I worked a little faster and looser than I usually do on this one, and I’m pretty happy with the results. On a side note, it was also cool to share the book review section with my good buddy Jon “The Future” Han. That guy is crazy.

‘Til next time…

Oh man! This is so rad, and I’m so glad that you’ve got the new website up and running. Really great drawing. Also: Jon Han will pull my unconscious body from the wreck of a burning car, thus saving my life.
