The Stooges

The Stooges

A few weeks back, I got an article from Paste about humorous music, and how it can taint a band’s image, preventing them from being taken seriously. While brainstorming classic comedy acts (The Marx Bros, Laurel and Hardy, etc.) I realized that The Three Stooges shared a name with punk rock band The Stooges. Now all it needed was some sign of a hostile audience. It was a small illustration, so drawing the audience was out of the picture. Tomatoes, however, were not.

I then used the formula from my previous Paste illustration, and came up with this:

The Stooges

I would have taken the “stooges” connection further, but an image of a crowd-surfing, near-naked Moe smearing peanut butter over his bare chest would probably have given the editors multiple seizures. Ah well, what can you do?

I think it’s insensitive of you to crack a joke about multiple seizures. Even so,good work.
