The ‘Hoff

Sido vs. Bushido

When José Reyes at Paste asked me to illustrate an article about a developing hip-hop feud between German rappers Sido and Bushido, I began compiling every cliché I could think of concerning gangster rap and Berlin/Germany.

I then took the rap elements (drive-by shootings, gang signs, bling, rap video girls) and brought them into unholy union with the German elements (Brandenburg, sausages, lederhosen, Lugers, Oktoberfest, BMW, David Hasselhoff), resulting in sausage bling and Oktoberfest rap video barmaids.

Here’s the complex, multifaceted thought process further simplified into math terms:

Easy as pie.

    Awesome! I only wish that hasselhoff was holding/dropping a hamburger patty and looking really knackered. maybe that’s cruel
